Michele Hier

Since graduating from Greasepaint Makeup School in London, I’ve spent 8 fantastic years working as a professional fashion makeup artist on mainstream TV shows, TV Series, Photo-shoots, Commercials and Short Films. Early on in my career I had the rare chance to work with iconic photographer David Bailey shooting a 9 page spread for Vanity Fair Magazine.
I’ve been so fortunate to work regularly with celebrities, TV personalities, presenters and award winning actors, as well as gathering some wonderful private clients along the way.
It’s important to me that a client looks and feels there best, before they step in front of a camera, a crowd, or onto the red carpet.

I agreed to join Adoption Arena having seen for myself how hard it is to be adopted even from a young age, and to wrestle internally with the desperate feelings of loss and abandonment, plus having seen the toll taken on one family giving up a baby, I feel honoured to contribute in any small way towards supporting the Adoption Arena.

Who are your role models and why?
Nelson Mandela for his compassion and wisdom, Cindy Crawford for her stunning face from any angle and Vivienne Westwood for her quirkiness, strong opinions and refusal to conform.

Favourite Quote
‘Don’t try to be like anyone else, just be yourself’.

In my section of Adoption Arena I will be writing about image, inner and outer beauty and being whole.

My favourite food is perfect pickled onions with mature cheddar cheese and a chunk of crusty bread, oh and it has to be with the purrrfect cup of tea.

Childhood Dream Job
When I was younger I wanted to be my own version of Debbie Harry (from Blondie), mixed together with a good splash of Chrissie Hinde, (from The Pretenders), performing with my own band.
Favourite Fashion Item
Right now my favorite fashion item is my dark brown leather biker jacket, it’s pretty worn in and beautifully battered now (like me lol).

If you could change one thing in this world what would it be?
I’d want each and every one of us to have a deep sense of belonging and acceptance. Oh and free housing for everyone!:-) x
