Having treated over 1000 children & adults in private practice, I have a wealth of knowledge in promoting healthy weight, digestion, energy, skin, mood, concentration, & immunity. I guide those that want to change their eating habits, perhaps due to illness, food intolerances or allergies, or maybe those simply wanting to know that they are making the most nutritious choices for themselves & their families.
My mission is to bring families together in rediscovering where our food comes from; inspiring them how to make nutritious, delicious dishes; & having them understand why this tasty stuff is good for us. My approach always encompasses an appreciation of how our physical health & food choices are tied to our emotions & stress. Acknowledging health at this deeper level allows for radical, life changing results.
In my section of Adoption Arena I will be writing about feeding your family in an easy, healthy, affordable & seasonal way. We will explore together how stress & trauma have an impact on the nutritional status & wellbeing of children & what to do about this; as well as how you as a parent can positively impact your child’s choices & vice versa.
Who is your role model & why?
My role model is Dr. Weston A. Price (1870-1948), sometime referred to as “The Isaac Newton of Nutrition”. The world was his laboratory & he discovered that those “primitive” cultures around the world that had been brought up on fresh, wholesome food had wide healthy, beaming faces, straight teeth & powerful immunity to disease. He saw that within one generation of these cultures moving into industrialised areas, with refined sugar, white flour & processed foods, the children born had narrow faces, crowded teeth & a greater occurrence of disease.
What is your favourite quote?
REAL food is my passion. I think Roald Dahl summed it up beautifully when he said: “Do you know what breakfast cereal is made of? It’s made of all those little curly wooden shavings you find in pencil sharpeners!”
Best advice ever given to you?
Do it from the heart or not at all.
What is the first thing you notice about people?
Their resilience & fighting spirit.
Why do you do what you do?
I do what I do because I know who I am & what I’m here for. I eat, sleep, live & breath natural medicine & wellbeing, & I love to share that passion with others.
What is your favourite food?
It has to be Korean – freshness, simplicity, spiciness all rolled into one.
Childhood dream job?
I’ve been a nutrition geek from a very young age…weird but true.
Favourite fashion item?
I adore any of my vintage treasures that I pick up from Brixton Village, London… usually bargains.
I recently fell in love with “The Perks of Being A Wallflower”.
Do you have pets and what?
A jet black cat with bright yellow eyes called Maya.
If you could change one thing in this world what would it be?
I would create a world where the best of mainstream, traditional & natural medicine practices are available to every single human being, as standard & free of charge.
